LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- State police have released dash cam footage of a coach’s arrest after driving a school bus while intoxicated in December of 2017.
A team full of students were on board when it happened.
A state trooper pulled over Lamar High School (Johnson County) boy’s basketball coach Kevin Kyzer after authorities got a call about Kyzer possibly being intoxicated.
Kyzer was on his way to a game that evening.
In the video, Kyzer can be seen being given a field sobriety test and then causally chatting with the state trooper on his ride to a jail in Ozark.
Kyzer is also heard in the video saying, “This is because I’m a bad basketball coach,” and “I think so. I’m not having a good year, and I don’t understand.”
Kyzer resigned from his position at Lamar in early 2018.
In August 2018, Kyzer pleaded guilty to DWI while in a commercial vehicle and endangering the welfare of a minor.
He was sentenced to five years of probation, according to court records.
