PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – A local man has been arrested after sheriff’s deputies report finding him passed out behind the wheel of a parked car and discover that he was wanted by the Bryant Police Department (BPD).
It happened shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Valero gas station at 14401 Arch St. Pike.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office report states that a deputy who had stopped for gas went to investigate when he saw the car sitting with its lights on and noted it was still running.
He reported finding the driver, later identified as Alton Henry Hopkins, 42, passed out with the windows rolled down.
When the deputy ran the license plate, it came up as a different vehicle but when he ran the VIN he found it had been reported stolen from Bryant.
Hopkins was found to have an active warrant from the BPD for violation of a protection order.
He was taken to the Pulaski County Jail on a hold for the BPD.
