Area fire departments had a blast after a week-long training event wrapped up with a car being blown to pieces.
Members of area fire departments partnered with Walmart and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for weapons of mass destruction class.
The week-long training was held at the Fayetteville Fire training facility.
“This training is needed and important,” Fayetteville Fire Chief Willie Watts said. “It closed with a BANG.”
The demonstration taught firefighters the power of explosives and the damage it causes with hands-on experience.
“The goal is to give an experience using real-life scenarios,” Watts said. “Weapons of mass destruction are real and to get this experience is really important.”
