NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – People who live near or travel around the northeast side of Camp Robinson on the Pulaski County-Faulkner County line are being warned about noise in the area over two days this week.
Mortar live fire training is taking place on ranges near Cato, and south of Arkansas Highway 89 on Tuesday, June 9, starting at noon and will continue through the night and end just before noon on Wednesday, June 10.
Arkansas National Guard officials say the sounds of the mortar fire will likely carry outside Camp Robinson’s perimeter and may potentially cause concern in the surrounding area. In addition, the mortar fire will include flare illumination rounds of several colors during night hours.
Communities near the training area that may hear or feel effects of the training beyond the borders of the post include: Cato, Mayflower, Runyon Acres, Gravel Ridge, and Oak Grove.
