SALINE COUNTY, AR – An Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC) officer is behind bars on multiple rape charges.
On Tuesday morning at 11:30, Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) detectives arrested Gary Vice, 54, at the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Malvern Unit.
Vice was charged, on a warrant, with eight counts of Rape, the victim was a minor. Vice works as a Correctional Officer with the ADC and holds the rank of Corporal.
He has been employed with the ADC for over a year. This investigation is ongoing.
According to a report, search and seizure warrants are being done and depending on the evidence recovered, additional charges may be filed.
Sheriff Rodney Wright said that any type of sexual assault investigation will receive specific attention, especially offenses which involve minors. The Sheriff also said that the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office became active in this investigation on May 17.
Vice is being held at the Saline County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
