PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – Deputies in Pulaski County are investigating a deadly shooting. The victim was found shot to death in his own car off Highway 365 Thursday in an area just outside Maumelle.
A family mourns after Pulaski County deputies find their loved one, Jerry Stubbs, 65, dead in a vacant lot.
“I don’t understand why someone would do this to him. It had to be someone who did not know him as a person,” said Stubbs’ nephew, Ryan Cohens.Cohens, and nearly everyone in the area, was in disbelief when they heard Stubbs had been murdered.
“Jerry has a personality of a million men. All together. Everyone liked Jerry,” said Cohens.Deputies say he was found shot to death in his car that was taken from the scene by investigators. Authorities can’t confirm a motive, but Cohens believes it was robbery.
“The money they got from him won’t last him a day or two. His life is gone and money the reason why. It’s not going to last,” said Cohens. As deputies piece together who was behind the gun, Cohens says he’ll never forget his uncle.
“It’s hard. It’s going to be hard for a while, but we’ll see through it. We’ll see through it,” said Cohens.Deputies still have not released a motive or a suspect. If you know anything, call the sheriff’s office.
