Update (10:45 a.m.):
SPRINGDALE, AR (KNWA) — Police say an 18-year-old was shot and killed this morning near the Applegate Apartments.
According to a news release from Lt. Derek Hudson, the Springdale Police Department (SPD) began receiving 911 calls just after 3 a.m. One caller reported hearing several gunshots and heard voices outside.
When officers arrived, they found one victim with a gunshot wound. A short time later, two other victims arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds.
The news release says one of the residents at the apartment is a 17-year-old boy, who says that individuals were outside his apartment banging on the window and one was holding a machete. The resident began firing a gun through his window, hitting two people outside. He then went outside and chased them, firing more rounds in their direction. Eventually he shot into their car where a third person was shot.
The victims include an 18-year-old man, a 14-year-old boy who was shot twice, and a 21-year-old woman who was the driver of the car. All three were treated at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
Police say the shooting suspect was taken to the SPD Criminal Investigation Division, and charged with Murder second Degree, two counts of Battery 1st Degree and Possession of a Handgun by a Minor.
The case is still under investigation, and more details are expected to be released.
Police say they cannot release names at this time, due to those involved either being a juvenile, or awaiting notification of family.

SPRINGDALE, AR (KNWA) — Police are investigating a shooting incident at the Applegate Apartments early Friday morning that sent three people to the hospital.
According to a news release, at approximately 3:21 a.m. the department received a call of gunshots at the Applegate Apartments. When officers arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken by ambulance to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
Shortly after, another man and a woman arrived at the same hospital with gunshot wounds.
The Springdale Police Department says its Criminal Investigation Division is investigating. They say everyone that is believed to be involved in this incident is accounted for.
