LITTLE ROCK, AR — Representative Jim Sorvillo filed House Bill 1620 this week he says it’s aimed at protecting animals.

If it goes into law, it would regulate puppy mills in the state of Arkansas. The idea is to require dog breeders to pay an annual licensing fee and do health and safety checks from a veterinarian.

Animal organizations and activists across the state support the bill that was filed on Wednesday.
