Update (2 p.m.):
ROGERS, AR – Rogers Police say a teenager died Friday, when an SUV slid into Lake Atalanta. Two others in the car survived.
According to officers, Justin Richards, 18, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo around the west side of the lake when it slid on the icy road, down an embankment and into the water.
Richards and a 15-year-old passenger in the back seat were able to escape, but a 17-year-old passenger in the front seat was trapped in the SUV and was not able to get out.
Richards and the 15-year-old walked to a nearby home and called 9-1-1. Both were taken to Mercy Hospital.
The Benton County Dive Team combed Lake Atalanta for the SUV and the third person still inside. They found the 17-year-old passenger underwater. The teen was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The accident is still under investigation.

ROGERS, AR (KNWA) – A third victim of a vehicle that crashed into Lake Atalanta has been pulled out of the water. EMS is conducting CPR to continue life saving efforts.
According to the Rogers Police Department Facebook page, two members of the Benton County Dive Team entered the water and were able to locate the vehicle and the third occupant of the vehicle. The third occupant is being transported to Mercy Hospital.

ROGERS, AR (KNWA) – Crews with the Rogers Fire Department (RFD) responded to a water rescue at Lake Atalanta Friday morning after a car went off the road and into the water.

The department sent two boats into the water to look for the victims.
William Hyde, Chief Deputy with the RFD says two people were rescued.
At last report, one was being taken to the hospital by helicopter, and the other by ambulance.
