GRAHAM, Texas — Conway Police confirm three other teens are being questioned in connection to a double homicide in Conway on Wednesday.
According to the Graham Police Department, officers stopped a Silver Tahoe bearing Arkansas License plates alleged to have been involved in a kidnapping in Arkansas.
Subsequent investigation into the incident resulted in all three occupants being arrested on misdemeanor charges in Texas as well as runaway in Arkansas and later identified as persons of interest in the investigation of Capital Murder charges involving an elderly couple in Conway Arkansas.
Around 1:30 Thursday morning, Young County dispatch advised Graham officers a Silver Tahoe was headed to Graham from the Graford area and the vehicle had been reportedly involved in a kidnapping out of Arkansas.
The vehicle was located entering Graham on Texas Highway 16 South and stopped as it pulled into an Allsups parking lot.
As the occupants were removed from the vehicle, one of the rear occupants dropped a double-edged knife.
Based on the nature of the call and the presence of a weapon, officers began a search of the vehicle, discovering a second knife, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of a substance believed to be marijuana.
A subsequent computer check revealed all three subjects were entered as runaways in the NCIC computer system.
Dispatch then advised the officer on scene needed to contact authorities in Arkansas.
Officers learned the three were persons of interest in a double homicide and one was believed to have been shot.
Officers confirmed that one of the occupants did indeed have a gunshot wound to the chest and later learned another of the subjects had been shot as well.
Neither of the subjects had life threatening injuries and all refused treatment at the scene.
All three subjects were arrested and transported to the Young County Jail.
It was later learned that one of the three occupants had texted a relative claiming to be the victim of a kidnapping and that was what had prompted the original call to police that the suspects were in Young County, Texas.
“We don’t know how they eventually ended up in Graham” Chief Tony Widner of the Graham Police Department reported.
The officers secured the subjects and the vehicle and made contact with Arkansas law enforcement officials.
According to the Graham Police Press Release, Detectives from the Conway Police Department arrived in Graham Thursday afternoon and processed the vehicle as well as interviewed the trio found in the vehicle.
Graham Officers and detectives assisted as the investigation continued into late Thursday evening.
On Friday morning all three subjects were arraigned in 90th District Court and waived jurisdiction, clearing their way for return to Arkansas.
