LONOKE COUNTY, AR – A man and woman from Beebe have been arrested after returning to the scene of a burglary.

That’s according to the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

It happened on Tuesday afternoon as deputies investigated a home burglar alarm on Sentel Road near the 16th Section community.

The LCSO says doors to the home and a shop had been forced open. Deputies found damage to an air conditioner that had been stripped of its copper tubing and wiring. Other damage was noted inside the home.

While processing the scene, deputies noticed a dark colored Honda Civic pull in front of the home, driving slowly. After the two people inside the car noticed a marked patrol unit, the car sped off.

Deputies caught up with the car on Bailey Road and made a traffic stop due to the vehicle not having a license plate.

The driver was identified as Rebecca Coco, 39, and the passenger was identified as Chester Smart, 35, both of Beebe.

The LCSO says during the stop deputies saw a large amount of copper pipe and wiring in the back of the car, along with parts from the air conditioning unit and other items stolen from the home.

Coco and Smart have been charged with Residential Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Breaking or Entering, Theft of Property, Possessing Instruments of Crime, and Criminal Trespass.
