Update (11:55 a.m.):
MCGEHEE, AR – Police say racial slurs started a bathroom altercation that left three students with stab injuries.
According to police, a verbal exchange between 3 or 4 African American juveniles over the use of the “N-word” culminated into a physical altercation in the boy’s bathroom at the McGehee High School lobby.
All three students were transported to hospitals. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time. The injuries are being taken seriously although they appear to be non life threatening.
Charges are expected to be filed through the juvenile system.
Update (11:55 a.m.):
MCGEHEE, AR – The McGehee School District says two students were injured in a stabbing this morning and a third was arrested.
“We did have an altercation involving three male students,” Superintendent Thomas Gaithen told us.
He said the incident happened in a restroom and that the wounds of the injured students are not believed to be life-threatening.
A third student had the knife, Gaithen said.
Local police are investigating after making an arrest on campus.
The school was on lockdown for 30 minutes to allow police to conduct their investigation.

MCGEHEE, AR – Three students have been stabbed at McGehee High School.
The McGehee Police Department tells us they were all hospitalized after the Friday morning incident inside the school.
Police say one of the victims was in surgery at last report but there’s no further word on any of their conditions.
The school was placed on lockdown after the incident but the lockdown has since been lifted.
We’ll have more information as soon as authorities release additional details.
