RUSSELLVILLE, AR – Planet Fitness Russellville is back in business after a 10-day closure for storm damage repairs.

The doors reopened on Friday afternoon. Along with welcoming back members to the club, Planet Fitness will be donating $5,000 to the Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross toward future disaster relief efforts in the area.

“The Russellville community has welcomed us with open arms and this is just a small way for us to show our gratitude,” said PF Arkansas franchisee Rick Kueber. “We can’t thank Russellville enough for the kind words during our closure, the local workers who made repairs quickly to get us open again two weeks ahead of schedule and our members for their patience. We’re glad to be back open so soon.”

Located at City Mall (405 N. Arkansas Ave.), the approximately 19,000 square foot club was closed March 26 due to straight-line wind damage suffered during a March 25 overnight storm. Initial estimates had the club reopening the week of April 13 but significant progress was made last week to allow a full reopening.

“We thank Planet Fitness for understanding the challenges faced by Northwest Arkansas and River Valley residents affected daily by disasters such as home fires, storms and floods,” said American Red Cross Chapter Executive Les Kimbrough. “This donation will help the people of Russellville and surrounding areas to get back onto the road to recovery after a weather related or man-made disaster. This generous support is vital to the care provided by Red Cross and is appreciated beyond words.”
