BAXTER COUNTY, AR – The Sheriff’s Office has arrested 29-year-old Regina Jean Colon of Gassville on a number of charges after she was arrested on Wednesday afternoon at a home on Hwy 201 North of Mountain Home.

On February 3rd, a person living on Baxter County Road made a complaint to the Sheriff’s Office that 20 prescribed morphine pills had been stolen from his home.

He named a suspect who had come inside his home previously to use the phone and had gone into the bathroom where the pills were stored. After she left, the victim discovered the morphine pills were gone.

On February 9, Regina Jean Colon was interviewed by the Sheriff’s Office in regards to the complaint. She admitted being at the home, but did not admit to the theft.

After further investigation, the Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Colon’s arrest. She was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators also found Colon to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of a schedule III controlled substance (Suboxone), and possession of drug items.

Additional items, including a small amount of an unidentified white powder substance, were also found to be in Colon’s possession by investigators and will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for testing.

Colon has been charged with:
Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance – Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana
Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Breaking or Entering – Felony
Theft of Property – Felony
Controlled Substances – Fraudulent Practices – Felony

She is currently being held on a $12,635 bond and will appear in Circuit Court on March 12.
