LITTLE ROCK, AR – There will be no bond for a local man facing charges in a hit and run that killed a woman as she left her workplace three months ago.
Deonte Jones, 22, is charged in the September death of Heather Cater, 22. She died after being hit by a vehicle running from law enforcement officers in a parking lot near Colonel Glenn Rd. & University Avenue.
Jones faces 4 felony charges in the case: Capital Murder, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Death, Delivery of a Controlled Substance and fleeing.
Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office say the pursuit of Jones started after they saw him participating in a drug transaction.
They say he took off in a stolen SUV. After hitting Cater, officials say Jones then hit two parked cars before jumping from the vehicle and running away.
