NEAR FULTON, AR (KTAL) – An investigation is under way after a human skull is found near the Red River south of Fulton (Hempstead County).
On Monday, dove hunters discovered the skull and a piece of blue clothing on a sandbar near a farm.
Deputies with the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office and criminal investigators with the Arkansas State Police conducted a further search of the area but nothing more was found.
The skull, which appeared to be mostly intact, and the piece of clothing are being sent to the State Crime Lab in Little Rock for identification.
