STUTTGART, AR – 17-year-old Arthur Hicks Jr. was charged today with capital murder of Daniel Ruffin, 20, of Stuttgart.

STUTTGART, AR – “He was so good so wonderful everybody loved him.”
Vera Strange choked back tears as she remembered her son.
“He was a good Christian boy that wanted to serve the Lord,” says Vera.
“I want you to know that he wasn’t in anything, it wasn’t his fault he don’t even know bad people.”
Police say Daniel was shot just steps away from his house on Tuesday just after 5 p.m.
He died a day later at the hospital.
“All three involved are juveniles,” says Steven Bobo, Assistant Police Chief.
Stuttgart Police releasing few details about what happened. A 17-year-old has been arrested.
Prosecutors say they believe he was the shooter and plan to file murder charges.
A source close to the investigation says one of the two other minors present is the son of Stuttgart Police Chief Michael Smith.
“We did notify the state police and asked them to conduct interviews due to certain people being involved in this case,” says Steven Bobo, Assistant Police Chief.
As for a motive police say they have an idea of why it happened but are keeping those details close to the vest.
They are not ruling out the possibility of additional charge.
“I hope justice is done whatever that might be,” says Vera.
