A new study finds a majority of overweight children think their weight is just fine.

About 1/3 of kids between the ages of 8 and 15 perceive themselves as either overweight, underweight or just right, when the scale says differently.

A new report from the National Center for Health Statistics finds 81% of overweight boys and 71$ of overweight girls believe they are about the right weight.

That misperception affects nearly half of boys considered clinically obese.

The study is based on a survey of nearly 1,600 diabetics who were followed for 8 years.

Researchers say those whose diets were highest in salt had double the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
