CONWAY, AR — The University of Central Arkansas is asking students, faculty & staff, and alumni to donate to help those affected by Sunday’s deadly tornadoes in central Arkansas. The school sent the following letter to its supporters:

Dear Alumni and Friends,

You are an important part of our UCA family, so we want to make sure that you have timely information regarding recent events in our community.

On Sunday, April 27, 2014, the State of Arkansas experienced great devastation in the wake of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. The University of Central Arkansas sits at the heart of Faulkner County, and students, faculty, and staff here feel the pain and grief of those most impacted by these ravaging storms.

In response to these events, the entire UCA community is coming together to assist. UCAPD dispatched a team of 10 officers last night to provide mutual assistance with area law enforcement in devastated areas of Faulkner County.

Students, faculty, and staff can visit the Counseling Center on the third floor of the Student Health Center for grief or emotional distress counseling.

The university has set up two drop off locations for storm relief items. Signage designating the following locations will be posted:

Room 109, Torreyson Library
UCA Physical Plant
