LITTLE ROCK, AR — Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe called on Lieutenant Governor Mark Darr to resign Tuesday amid an $11,000 ethics violation.

Beebe told reporters his discussion with Darr was “short and sweet” Tuesday morning.

Darr, a Republican elected in 2010, accepted responsibility on Monday for 11 violations of state law regarding misuse of campaign and taxpayer money.

Darr said on Tuesday he plans to complete his term that ends in January 2015.

“The mistakes I made have been well documented,” Darr says “My focus now is on making things right with the people of Arkansas.”
