LITTLE ROCK, AR – A woman is dead and her husband under arrest after a stabbing incident on the city’s southwest side.
It happened Thursday night around 11:00 at the couple’s home on Grace Road in a neighborhood off Mabelvale Pike.
Police identify the victim as Rosa Dina Castro Orellana, 39, and the suspect as Jose Carlos Romero, 43.
According to the incident report, Romero cut his own throat after attacking his wife during an argument, then ran into woods near his home while the couple’s 14-year-old daughter called 911.
When help arrived, Orellana was found lying on her back on the living room floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An initial search of the area did not locate Romero, who later returned home while police were still on the scene. He was arrested without incident. He had to be taken to UAMS for treatment of his wound. There’s no additional information on his condition.
Two other adults who lived there were also home when the incident happened, the police report noted.
