WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR– A Rogers police officer told a judge on Monday that he did not try to choke and kill his wife.
Jesse Ray entered the not guilty plea Monday afternoon in a Washington County courtroom. He’s charged with two felonies of terroristic threatening and aggravated assault, along with a misdemeanor of third-degree domestic battery.
In the arrest report, deputies say Ray’s wife had injuries on her face, neck and arms when they responded to a domestic battery call at a home in Lincoln. Ray was later booked and released from the Washington County jail on a $5,000 bond.
The Rogers Police Department put him on paid administrative leave since the May 17 incident.
Ray’s next court date is set for August 13.
