LITTLE ROCK, AR – The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Arkansas is filing a lawsuit today challenging the 12-week abortion ban law put on the books by the legislature last month.

The Arkansas House of Representatives voted March 6th to override the governor’s veto of the ban law, setting up the most restrictive abortion legislation in the nation.

The House voted 56-33 to override, with all 51 Republicans voting in favor, along with five Democrats.

The ACLU is holding a news conference at one o’clock this afternoon in the State Capitol Rotunda to discuss the lawsuit.
