LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – The leader of a group that wants a ballot measure to legalize medical marijuana in Arkansas says the organization has submitted enough signatures to get on the November ballot.
Arkansans for Compassionate Care turned in more than 74,000 signatures on Monday.
Those signatures still need to be verified by the Arkansas Secretary of State. Last month, the group submitted 65,413 signatures, but the state found that only 35,495 were valid.
The group had an additional 30 days – or until Monday – to turn in enough valid signatures from registered voters to reach the 62,507 needed to qualify for the ballot.
