LITTLE ROCK, AR — If you drink too much, taxi driver George Coleman wants to meet you. In fact, catching a ride with George is a better option than a back seat ride to jail.
“Those blue lights are going to be in your rear view mirror and you are looking at a lot of trouble for a few moments of pleasure,” said Coleman, “We want to see everyone have a good time, but we want to make sure people get home safe.”
Coleman works for yellow cab. The company is offering a free ride home to drivers who’ve had too much alcohol. The only thing drivers have to do is pick up the phone.
“If we can save one life, it is worth every bit of expense that this program costs,” said company vice president David Wages.
But if you don’t want to leave your car or truck, Glover’s towing can help with that problem.
“As soon as they call us, I am going to send a guy out there who is going to pick them up and take them and their car home,” company manger Tim Moody.
Mothers against drunk driving reports more than 200 people across the country died in alcohol impaired driving accidents during the holidays in 2010.
