Michael Esparza joined the station as a digital reporter in September 2018.
His hallmark is storytelling and being able to connect with his community.
Michael’s past work landed him a nomination for the Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards. He flew to Paris, France while working on his graduate degree to help find stories not being told.
Michael comes from Chicago, Illinois where he worked as a Journalism Coordinator for Community TV Network helping youth learn the craft of storytelling.
Before that, he worked at KOSA-TV in Midland-Odessa,Texas. There, he reported on homicides, government corruption, police stand-offs, and tornadoes.
He is bilingual, a recreational pilot, and storyteller at heart. He is passionate about his work and always aims to do better the next day.
Michael says he is excited to call Little Rock his new home.
