
Wess Moore joined Fox 16 as Sports Director in February 2013. He’s been covering sports in Arkansas for more than 20 years.
Wess grew up in Texas and graduated college from Texas State University. He began his TV career as a news reporter in Ada, Oklahoma in 1994. Wess then returned to his East Texas roots as a reporter in the Marshall bureau for a Shreveport TV station. While working there Wess was promoted to weekend news anchor and morning news anchor. Wess met his wife Alyson at that station in Shreveport. They married a few years later and began working in Victoria, Texas. Wess was the main news anchor for three years in Victoria. That’s when Wess discovered sports was his passion. The couple moved to Little Rock in 2003.
In addition to his duties as Fox 16 Sports Director, Wess co-hosts “The Zone” on 103.7 The Buzz. The sports talk show airs Monday thru Friday from 10-1. Wess loves talking sports! His favorite sports changes with each sesaon. Wess grew up playing basketball, baseball, football, and golf. Golf is his passion these days thanks to bad ankles.
Wess has won numerous awards for news and sports reporting over the years. He was nominated for a Regional Emmy for a story on the near-death experience of current Razorback Jeremey Ward. Wess is a two-time winner of the sports reporter of the year as voted on by the readers of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Wess was also named the National Sports Media Association Arkansas Broadcaster of the year in 2016.
Wess has covered PGA Tour events, MLB, NFL, NBA games, bowl games, NCAA Tournament games, the College World Series in Omaha, the Super Bowl, and can’t wait to cover his first BCS National Championship Game.
Wess and wife Alyson, came to Little Rock in 2003 and now call the Natural State home. They have two daughters, Brooklyn and Berkeley, and love attending sporting events around the state.
