Kristen Kennedy joined the Arkansas Storm Team in November 2018. She comes to Little Rock from her native Georgia, where she most recently worked as the morning meteorologist for 41NBC in Macon. During her time in Macon, Kristen covered a plethora of weather events including an extensive drought in 2016, a tornado outbreak in January 2017, a rare snowfall event in 2018 and local impacts from major hurricanes Irma, Florence and Michael.

Kristen developed a passion for the weather at an early age – in third grade! Her excitement and interest in meteorology continued throughout her years of higher education. Kristen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University in 2016, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences, concentrating in Professional Broadcast Meteorology with broadcast emphasis. She also has a minor in Broadcast Communications.

In college, Kristen won 2nd place in the College Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters award banquet for the Best College Weathercast. She also interned at WSB-TV in Atlanta.

While she’s not monitoring the weather, Kristen is probably watching or talking about sports. She played basketball and softball before pursuing lacrosse in high school and college. However, Kristen’s favorite sport is college football. She’s biased towards the SEC and loves Saturdays down South.

Kristen also enjoys nature and exploring the great outdoors, so there’s no doubt she’ll love everything the Natural State has to offer!
