PIKE COUNTY, AR — A Pike County man was in custody Sunday night in connection with a triple murder state police say happened near the town of Delight.

Family members say 43-year-old Timothy Hill was going through a difficult divorce with one of the victims, Dana Hill, 33, but they really don’t know what could have led to something like this.

Sunday, at a home off Highway 301, children’s toys and play sets gave no indication of the horrors police say took place the night before.

It was just after 7:00pm Saturday when state police first got a report of gun fire.

When officers arrived they found two women shot dead. A nine-year-old girl named Autumn Hartsfield was also shot.  She was taken to the hospital where she died.

Dana Hill was a nurse at the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope.

Co-workers there on Sunday described Hill as sweet and well mannered saying they were struggling to come to grips with her loss.

The other woman killed is 54-year-old Julie Hartsfield, according to family members she is Dana Hill’s mother and the young girl killed was her niece.

Timothy Hill was being held in the Pike County Jail Sunday night in connection with the killings.

State Police is handling the investigation.
