HOPE, AR – An arrest has been made in a 2014 murder case.
The Hope Police Department says officers took a suspect into custody on Thursday afternoon.
Lucas Wayne Barnett, 30, of Hope, faces a capital murder charge for the beating death of Gary Tubberville, 57. He died on July 2 after being found unresponsive inside a home in the 300 block of South Ferguson Street.
Hope Police say Sharlee M. Cole, 21, of Hope has also been arrested and charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution in the same incident.
Both Barnett and Cole were booked into the Hempstead County Detention Facility where they await a first court appearance.
Bond for Cole was set at $500,000 and Barnett was given no bond.
