Officer Involved in Shooting of 107-Year-Old Man Put on Paid Leave

PINE BLUFF, AR — New details are emerging about the 107-year-old man who was shot and killed by police Saturday.

The Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) says the officer responsible for shooting and killing Monroe Isadore in a shootout has been placed on administrative leave. Police are yet to release the officer’s name.

Tuesday, PBPD released an information report from a June 1 incident in which Isadore refused to leave with his son-in-law.

According to the report, Isadore told police he was 107 years old and God had told him to do His will. Isadore also reportedly told police they would have to shoot him or take him to jail before he went back home with his son-in-law.

Isadore’s daughter came in and helped resolve the situation peacefully.

Funeral arrangements for Monroe Isadore are pending.
