MAUMELLE, AR — Residents in an upscale Central Arkansas neighborhood were shocked after police say they found evidence of a meth lab inside a neighbor’s home.
Maumelle Police say they’ve been investigating the case for about a month. Friday afternoon they closed in.
No one answered the door Monday afternoon at the house off Summit Valley Circle. But the busted-up door gave an idea of the police operation that took place here.
We noticed windows on the garage were blacked out.
Inside the home, Maumelle Police say they found supplies needed to make a meth lab including chemicals and containers. Police say they also found syringes other drug paraphernalia.
That kind of an operation was a big surprise to residents, including Maumelle city alderman Rick Anderson who lives just a few houses down.
“I am shocked,” Anderson said. “I mean, it’s not something that you expect to happen.”
Maumelle police arrested Scott McClain and charged him with Manufacture of Methamphetamine. His wife, Shannan McClain was also arrested. She’s charged with Maintaining a Drug Premises.
