NEWPORT, Ark. (AP) — Some Newport residents are offering a reward for information about the killing of a car dealership owner.
A committee of 78-year-old Paul Tinsley’s closest friends collected $25,000 recently. The friends say they hope the money will lead investigators to the person who killed Tinsley.
Police say someone walked into Tinsley Auto Sales on Arkansas Highway 167 and shot Tinsley in the head on Jan. 3. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
No arrests have been made.
Newport Police Chief Michael Scudder told KAIT-TV his investigators were looking into a possible robbery motive in the murder case, and several persons of interest have been identified. But he declined to release any more details.
