LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Rotary Club of Little Rock is recognizing police officers and firefighters who have gone the extra mile to keep us safe.
Rotary members hosted a luncheon on Tuesday featuring stories of heroic deeds done by officers and firefighters.
The big awards went to Matt Murski, who was named Little Rock Police Officer of the Year, and Ryan Baker, named Firefighter of the Year.
Both are recognized for their work ethic.
“Just listening to the stories told so far today and the citizens that have helped out the department, but primarily officers and firefighters that are doing heroic things, and the it’s the least we can do to give them recognition,” says Rotary member Greg Flescher.
Both Murksi and Baker received a plaque, $1,000 and a wrist-watch from Sissy’s Log Cabin.
