Texarkana Police Arrest Suspect for 3 Recent Robberies

TEXARKANA, AR – On Sunday the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department arrested Kentrell Thomas, 19, of Texarkana, for three recent robberies that occurred on East Street.

The first robbery was reported on November 16 at the Family Dollar at 900 East Street.

According to police during the robbery an unknown black male entered the business with a shotgun and demanded money from the employee.

Police say a few days later, on November 21, the METRO PCS store on the 800 block of East Street, was robbed by an unknown black male with a shotgun.

Then on November 29 the Family Dollar was again robbed in the same manner of the previous robberies, once again an unknown black male carrying the same shotgun approached the clerk and demanded money before leaving on foot.

The Texarkana Arkansas Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation of these crimes in order to capture this suspect before anyone was seriously injured.

On Saturday, November 29, after receiving several phone calls with tips concerning the suspect, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in Texarkana, Arkansas, by members of the Criminal Investigation Division, Special Operations Section and Patrol Division.

Several pieces of evidence were recovered from all three robberies during the search.

Thomas, turned himself in to police on Sunday.

Thomas has been charged with 3 counts of aggravated robbery.
