Update (2:20 p.m.):
JACKSONVILLE, AR – The man who was shot by police this morning during a domestic disturbance and later died has been identified.
Police say Michael Goodman, 64, was in violation of a no contact order when he went to his wife’s home this morning.
When police tried to arrest him, he allegedly pulled a knife and rushed towards two officers. One of them fired his service weapon and wounded Goodman in the upper body.
Police say a check of the call history to the Madden Road home showed that Goodman had been arrested on June 1st for domestic battery, which resulted in the issuance of the no contact order two days later. Also, on June 24th, officers responded to the home to take a report from Goodman’s wife about him allegedly contacting her by phone.
The names of the officers are still not being released at this time. A criminal investigation and an internal investigation are continuing.

JACKSONVILLE, AR – Police say the man shot by officers this morning has died at North Metro Medical Center.
His name has not yet been released.
The officers have been placed on administration leave pending investigation.

JACKSONVILLE, AR – A man has been shot by police in Jacksonville.
It happened just before 9:00 this morning at 1709 Madden Road.
That’s where officers had responded to a call about a domestic disturbance.
The man’s condition is not yet known.
Police have not yet released his name or the name of the officers involved in the incident.
