Update: Off-Duty Memphis Police Officer Shoots 2 Home Invaders in Marion

Update (4 p.m.):
MARION, AR – The Marion Police Department (MPD) has released new details in a morning shooting at the home of an off-duty Memphis police officer that left two people injured.

In a news release issued Wednesday afternoon, the MPD said the shots were fired shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday at the officer’s home during a reported home invasion.

The suspects injured in the shooting were taken to the Med in Memphis, where both were in surgery at last report.

The MPD says no charges have yet been filed and the Memphis Police Department is assisting with the investigation.

MARION, AR (WMC) – Marion police are investigating a shooting involving an off-duty Memphis police officer.

The shooting happened Wednesday at the off-duty officer’s home in Marion, Arkansas.

Investigators say it appears the off-duty officer shot a person who was trying to get into the officer’s home.

A Memphis police spokeswoman says she was told the home invader was taken to Regional One in critical condition.
