There’s lots to see, do and eat at the Little Rock Farmers’ Market on Saturday.
You’ll find fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, plus a wide variety of fruits and vegetables for sale by farmers from all over Central Arkansas.
You can also see the talents of local chefs on display as they transform ingredients from the market into yummy dishes. Cards will be provided for the recipes each chef prepares for those who want to try them at home. It’s all part of the market’s Garden Gourmet Series.
The July 13 event is entitled “The Summer Showcase” and will feature seasonal beans, squash, corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, berries, plums, peaches, watermelon and cantaloupe.
Chefs will pair off and cook at 9-10 AM and 10:30 AM-11:30 AM respectively.
At 9 enjoy a demonstration from Chef Juan and Dave Miller of the DoubleTree Hotel.
At 10:30 watch Laurie with Le Pop Gourmet Ice Lollies use fresh fruits and veggies to create delicious frozen treats
At noon, Chef Chris of Boulevard Bread holds the final place for the day.
