SPRINGDALE, AR (KNWA) – Police and the SWAT team spent Sunday afternoon trying to negotiate with a man who they say returned to the site of a meth bust, then barricaded himself inside a home.

According to Lt. Derek Hudson with Springdale Police, officers responded to a home on 5416 West County Line Road. After three and a half hours, an unarmed 33-year-old Danny Burroughs surrendered to police peacefully.

“He came out. He’s been arrested. He has been charged with aggravated assault, he’s been charged with domestic battery, and then also various charges involving manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine,” said Hudson.

Investigators had been called to the same home last week after Burroughs’ girlfriend said he had a knife to her throat. When officers responded to that call, Burroughs had left the scene but they found multiple meth labs.

The house was red-tagged, which led up to Sunday’s events. A neighbor saw Burroughs enter the taped-off home and called authorities. Burroughs and his girlfriend, Jamie Pratt, remain in the Benton County Jail.
