PINE BLUFF, AR — Monday night, Mayor Carl Redus responded to reports his wife crashed a city vehicle, injuring their son.
The incident happened at Harbor City Gumbo Cookoff when reports say she swerved to miss a car and hit a pole.
The parking space at Saracen Landing for Trudy Redus is empty because of her suspension.
City policy requires a drug and alcohol test after any accident. But Redus did not take one.
“She will be treated like all city employees will be treated. She has gotten legal advice,” said Mayor Carl Redus.
T. Redus is suspended until May 17. She does have the opportunity to appeal.
Reports show she was not seriously injuried, but the son required surgery to his head.
He is okay however.
