BRYANT, AR – Police have arrested the former Operations and Finance Director of the Boys and Girls in Bryant after an audit of membership fees uncovered a $16,965 discrepancy.

The director of the Boys and Girls Club, Suzanne Passmore, reported the missing funds to police on Wednesday.

Jonathan Ray Glenn, 38, turned himself in Friday and he has been charged with the theft of the money.

The organization said in a statement that “despite the routine checks and balances we, along with Boys and Girls Clubs of America and our auditing firm have put in place, Mr. Glenn found ways around these barriers of accountability.” And that it has “already strengthened procedures to further safeguard the organization’s finances.”

FOX16 News went to Glenn’s house after getting word that he was released from the Saline County jail.  No one answered the door.

Parents learned of the theft when they picked up their kids this afternoon.

“Where are they going to come up with the money now because it’s hard enough for us to pay the membership (fees) that they charge?” asked Michael Mitchell, a parent.
