Children who drink milk from sources other than cows may have lower levels of Vitamin D.

Researchers in Canada studied blood samples taken from nearly 4,000 young children.

They found kids who only drink non-cow’s milk…like almond, rice and soy milk…were more than twice as likely to be vitamin D deficient.

The vitamin is sometimes added to alternative milk, but it’s voluntary.

Experts say, you should always read the labels.

Health experts say emergency doses of epinephrine should be available in all U.S. schools.

Chicago’s Public School system was the first to have “auto injectors” of epinephrine to treat serious allergic reactions.

Injectors were used 39 times during the 2012-2013 school year…and more than half of those students didn’t know they had an allergy.

Researchers say students spend a large portion of their day in school…and may have their first reaction while there, so epinephrine needs to be accessible.
