Liquid Nicotine Poisoning In Children On The Rise

A new study reveals the number of young children poisoned by E-cigarette refill cartridges has risen significantly.

The CDC reports over 200 calls to poison control in one month related to children swallowing the liquid nicotine.

Researchers say just a few drops could cause serious side effects.

And parents should immediately bring their child to the emergency room if they suspect nicotine poisoning.

In other health news…new research found pregnant women at “high risk of preeclampsia” may benefit from a daily low-dose aspirin after the first trimester.

Preeclampsi affects about 4% of all pregnancies in the U.S. and is one of the leading causes of complications for expectant moms and their babies.

Experts stress that aspirin is only recommended for women at high-risk for preeclampsia, such as a history of the condition or being pregnant with multiples or other chronic health issues.

The guidelines come from the U.S. preventative services task force.
