The Arkansas Health Connector was created by the Arkansas Insurance Department to provide users with the information and tools needed to get health insurance through the new Health Insurance Marketplace. Beginning October 1, you’ll be able to shop for affordable, high-quality health insurance offered through the Marketplace that will take effect January 2014. All this has been made possible through a federal law called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which provides ways to make coverage more affordable for individuals, families and employers. Financial assistance may even be available depending on your household income and the number of people in your family.
