LITTLE ROCK, AR – A year ago, we introduced Jessica Gabaldon, diagnosed at age 33 with stage 4 colon cancer. It had spred to her liver when doctors found it.  But under intense chemo therapy treatments and surgical proceedures –  she refused to stop working full time.

Fast forward to now and that hasn’t changed–still in treatment, still having surgeries, still living life to the fullest.

“I’m afraid of not living. And that’s what a lot of people do when they’re in a situation where they diagnosed with a terminal disease.  Is they forget how to live,” she said.

No chance of that. She started dating Mark a few months ago. Now, they’re getting married.

As for Jessica’s stage four cancer?

“Really God decides,” she said. “We don’t have much control over the here and now.”

“It’s hard to watch her get poked and prodded on but for the most part she handles it so well it kinda calms my nerves,” said Mark.

Jessica created a photo diary of her chemo treatments that started two years ago. She vows to stay strong. Plus, she has a wedding to plan or as she calls it a celebration.

“It’s been a whilwind. I embrace everyday and keep going. They say i could probably write a book about my life.”
