The telethon ran from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on both KARK 4 and FOX16. Volunteers from the Salvation Army answered phones throughout the day.
Call-in guests during the telethon included Torii Hunter, Jeff Long, Bret Bielema and Mike Anderson.
The Salvation Army will use the money raised from the telethon to purchase food, water and equipment for their mobile feeding units, which are providing physical, spiritual, and emotional care for Arkansans hit hardest by the recent storms. Many victims will also receive Visa gift cards to buy the necessities lost when tornadoes took their homes. These gift cards will be purchased through McCain Mall, who has agreed to waive all fees associated with the cards, so that 100 percent of the money donated can go directly to the storm victims.
