LITTLE ROCK, AR — Emergency crews took two adults and a child to the hospital after lightning struck a tree, causing it to fall and crush their car while they were inside.

The incident took place in Southwest Little Rock on Broadway Court.

The tree crushed two cars, the other unoccupied, and landed on a house, according to the Little Rock Fire Department.

Maurice Jones, Jr., boyfriend to one of the adult occupants, witnessed the entire event and attempted to stop them from driving down the street.

“I saw the tree falling,” he said. “I tried to yell out to them, but it was too late.”

The adults were taken to UAMS, and the child was taken to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital for treatment.

There were no life-threatening injuries.
