LITTLE ROCK, AR – Another snowstorm is in the forecast Wednesday for parts of Arkansas.
LITTLE ROCK, AR – Expectations continue to change as another snowstorm makes a beeline for Arkansas.
The southern half of the state is still forecast to be in the crosshairs but what will fall and where has shifted somewhat from earlier today.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday for an area south of a line from Murfreesboro to Pine Bluff to Stuttgart.
Counties in the warning area include: Arkansas, Bradley, Calhoun, Clark, Cleveland, Columbia, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Grant, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Howard, Jefferson, Lincoln, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, Ouachita, Pike, Sevier and Union counties.
After the snowfall begins, the system is expected to spread further north and east throughout the day and taper off from west to east during the late afternoon and through the evening hours on Wednesday.
Snowfall accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are possible in the counties above with locally heavier amounts. There will likely be a band of heavier snowfall somewhere in the area. Also, snowfall will be heavy at times with an inch possible in a short period of time.
A Winter Storm Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday for an area stretching from Conway to Searcy to Augusta.
The advisory area includes these counties: Faulkner, Garland, Lonoke, Monroe, Montgomery, Polk, Prairie, Pulaski, Saline, White and Woodruff counties.
An inch or two of snow will be possible in the advisory area with an inch falling in only a short period of time.

The southern half of the state is expected to be in the crosshairs when a new storm system moves into southwest Arkansas around sunrise. Snowfall amounts up to 4 inches are anticipated with this storm.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight until 6 p.m. Wednesday for Columbia, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, Sevier and Union counties
After the snowfall begins, the system is expected to spread further north and east throughout the day and taper off from west to east during the late afternoon and through the evening hours on Wednesday.
The highest snowfall accumulations are anticipated in an area from Camden to Dumas to Stuttgart back to Arkadelphia but uncertainties remain about the amount of snowfall and the exact placement of the highest snowfall accumulations.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from midnight tonight until 6 p.m. Wednesday for these counties in the southern half of the state: Arkansas, Bradley, Calhoun, Clark, Cleveland, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Garland, Grant, Hot Spring, Jefferson, Lincoln, Lonoke, Monroe, Montgomery, Ouachita, Pike, Polk, Prairie, Pulaski and Saline.
