OKOLONA, AR – Rowdy Adventures in Okolona has plenty to keep its employees busy. There are zip-lines, swamp buggies and park maintenance to no end.

“Whatever needs to be done I do it,” explained third-year employee Josh Lockwood.

Lockwood does it all but this last weekend he added security to the list when three of their motorized kayaks were stolen.

General Manager Jonathan Gonzales sent Lockwood down the river to find the crafts called “Mokai’s”.

“Makes you mad immediately,” remarked Gonzales. “Makes you want to go catch them.”

They set off to get them back. Lockwood says he caught up with the boats and the two thieves who took them only about 400 yards down the river.

“Not smart enough to start the things,” Lockwood snickered.

Remember, the boats are motorized with a six horse power Subaru engine and a jet prop.

Lockwood laughed, “And they were paddling away… I’m like all you got to do is bump that key there big guy and go places.”

One of the guys took off when Lockwood chased them down but the other didn’t want to give it up.

“And he stood up and I just pushed him and out of the boat he went,” Lockwood said. “Tied my boat off and drove off. Left him in the river.”

For the accused thieves who thought they could get away and anyone else out there targeting the joint, Lockwood says there’s a lesson to be learned.

He insisted, “Don’t steal anything from rowdy adventures.”

The three accused men, Christopher Couch, Matthew Honnel and Tanner Fortner, along with a fourth suspect, Andrew Bryant, could face felony theft charges.
