LITTLE ROCK, AR – Today marks the beginning of a series of meetings to talk about the future of rail travel in Arkansas.
Put together by the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department the meetings will discuss developing a high speed passenger rail from Texarkana to Little Rock and Little Rock to Memphis.
“We’re looking at the entire market, whether or not it’s people form Little Rock going to Memphis for Memphis in May or business trips. And the same thing for Memphis to Little Rock, or Memphis to Dallas.
The next meeting will be this Thursday at 4 p.m. in Fort Smith at the River Parks Events Building.
These meetings will lead to a recommendation and cost estimate for potential rail lines.
